Our courses suit everyone, from a complete beginner who has never bathed a dog to wanting to improve your current qualifications / skills / knowledge. Training days can be arranged to suits your needs, whether that is multiple days a week or spread out to fit around current commitments. You can train alongside your current job or as a brand new career. Weekends can be discussed.  

All our iPET Network qualifications are a recognised qualification and are regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) which regulates qualifications and examinations in England.

iPET Level 3 AWARD

An Introduction to Dog Grooming

This course is 5 days Training in the learning environment (total hours 46) additional hours are guided homework giving a total qualification time of 55 hours.

Entry requirements 
Min age is 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Dog Grooming is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish several dog breeds and understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon.

Leading industry experts have reviewed this qualification to ensure the outcome is appropriate for the Dog Grooming industry and the continued growth and development of the sector.

The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure that vocational skills lead the qualification with underpinned knowledge developed throughout.

Objectives of the qualification

This qualification is aimed to take Candidates on a journey from complete beginners to be able to confidently, start to style several dog breeds.

Depending on the needs of the individual Candidate, the qualification can:

  • prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding
  • prepare Candidates for employment

in Dog Grooming and Introduction to styling

The course is 15 days Training in the learning environment (total hours 174). Additional hours are guided homework, giving a total qualification time of 238 hours.

Entry requirements 
Min age 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming and Introduction to Styling is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a selection of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon and understanding health checking, handling and canine behaviour.

Leading industry experts have reviewed this qualification to ensure the outcome is appropriate for the Dog Grooming industry and the continued growth and development of the sector.

The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure that vocational skills lead the qualification with underpinned knowledge developed throughout.

in Dog Grooming and Salon Management

The course is 30 days training. Included in  this includes 1 day for Canine Emergency First Aid and (total hours 300).Additional hours are guided homework, giving a total qualification time of 403 hours to complete the qualification.

Entry requirements 
Min age 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

Fast Track Option
The candidate must have prior attainment and experience and can demonstrate eligibility for this option. The candidate must hold Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification with 1 years styling experience, (or 1 years experience styling)

The iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, understand business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid.

FAST TRACK iPET

Level 3 DIPLOMA

in Dog Grooming and Salon Management

Price depends on remote or salon based training.

This is for experienced groomers who can complete theory work and a portfolio of grooms, either remotely or based at the training school. Canine First Aid is also a requirement and can be competed at the training school.

The candidate must have prior attainment and experience and can demonstrate eligibility for this option. The candidate must hold Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification with 1 years styling experience, (or 1 years experience styling).

It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, understand business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid.

This course is designed for anyone who would like to have their skills recognised and gain a Fast Track qualification. You must have a minimum of 1 years grooming experience or already hold a Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification. Students can complete the theory work and a portfolio of grooms remotely or attend the training school. You will complete 3 grooming assessments either at the training school, remotely or by video. This course will require a Canine First Aid qualification (if not already held) this can also be gained at the training school. The qualification can:

  • prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding
  • prepare Candidates for employment
  • support a role in the workplace
  • encourage engagement in learning.

This is a 1 day practical course.

Entry requirements 
Min age 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in Handstripping is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to help guide you through the theory of different coats and breeds that can be Handstripped. The qualification covers techniques, tools, the factors that effect Handstripping, the benefits and the aftercare.

Taster Session

£100

Come and spend the day with us, see our premises, wash and dry a variety of breeds, watch grooming take place, help brushing and assist a groomer, talk about the qualification and decide whether a course is for you.

These taster days are £100 and this will be taken from your course fees if you decide to take a qualification with Dog-a-Holic.
