OUR TRAINING COURSES

Our courses suit everyone, from a complete beginner who has never bathed a dog to wanting to improve your current qualifications / skills / knowledge. Training days can be arranged to suits your needs, whether that is multiple days a week or spread out to fit around current commitments. You can train alongside your current job or as a brand new career. Weekends can be discussed.  

All our iPET Network qualifications are a recognised qualification and are regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) which regulates qualifications and examinations in England.

OUR TRAINING VENUE

Our Venue is a small relaxed training room within a busy established grooming salon, there will be no more than 2 Students training at anyone time, this provides you with no rush, personal experience with the opportunity to spend time with your tutor.

iPET Level 3 AWARD

An Introduction to Dog Grooming

This course is a minimum of 5 days Training in the learning environment (total hours 46) additional hours are guided homework giving a total qualification time of 55 hours.

Entry requirements 
Min age is 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Dog Grooming is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish several dog breeds an understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon.

Leading industry experts have reviewed this qualification to ensure the outcome is appropriate for the Dog Grooming industry and the continued growth and development of the sector.

The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure that vocational skills lead the qualification with underpinned knowledge developed throughout.

Objectives of the qualification

This qualification is aimed to take Candidates on a journey from complete beginners to be able to confidently style several dog breeds.

Depending on the needs of the individual Candidate, the qualification can:

  • prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding
  • prepare Candidates for employment
  • support a role in the workplace
  • encourage engagement in learning

This qualification has been designed to enable Candidates to:

  • access a holistic approach to training
  • work practically with dogs
  • understand Health and Safety in a dog grooming environment
  • gain skills to prepare, style and finish a selection of dog breeds meeting the clients requirements
iPET Level 3 CERTIFICATE

in Dog Grooming and Introduction to styling

The course is a minimum of 15 days Training in the learning environment (total hours 174) and 2 days directed home theory days (more may be required) Total qualification time is 238 hours.

Entry requirements 
Min age 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming and Introduction to Styling is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a selection of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon and understanding health checking, handling and canine behaviour.

Leading industry experts have reviewed this qualification to ensure the outcome is appropriate for the Dog Grooming industry and the continued growth and development of the sector.

The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure that vocational skills lead the qualification with underpinned knowledge developed throughout.

iPET Level 3 DIPLOMA

in Dog Grooming and Salon Management

~ includes Starter Grooming Kit ~

The course is a minimum of 30 day Training in the  this includes 1 day for Canine Emergency First Aid and (total hours 300) there should be 2 hours of guided homework for 29 days and further hours will be required to study/work at home for theory work. This should be a total of 403 hours to complete the qualification.

Entry requirements 
Min age 16, candidates must have a level of understanding to work at Level 3 but there are no entry requirements.

Fast Track Option
This is if the candidate has prior attainment and experience and can demonstrate eligibility for this option.The candidate must hold Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification with 1 years styling experience.(or 1 years experience styling)

The iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management is designed to be flexible to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, understand business management and gain skills in canine emergency first aid.

in Canine Emergency First Aid

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine Emergency First Aid is perfect for owners and professionals alike who want to be prepared should a pet need emergency treatment. The qualification covers the most commonly faced canine needs such as how to treat injury, dressing wounds, allergic reactions, stings, poisoning, choking, seizures, CPR, hypothermia and much more.

The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure Candidates have the knowledge required should they ever be faced with an emergency first aid situation.

Taster Day

£100

Come and spend the day with us, see our premises, wash and dry a variety of breeds, watch grooming take place, help brushing and assist a groomer, talk about the qualification and decide whether a course is for you.

These taster days are £100 and this will be taken from your course fees if you decide to take a qualification with Dog-a-Holic.
